The Twinkle Pitch Jury is here – with a special surprise for all finalists

We are very pleased to tell that our Pitch Competition finalists will face a very capable jury, consisting of:

  • Jukka Matikainen, Head of New Factory,
  • Iida Repo, Director Consultant at PopUp Media Oy,
  • Tero Luoma, Investment Director and Partner of Taaleritehdas Private Equity Funds, and
  • Kim Simelius, Vice President of Berggren’s Patents business area & Managing Director of Tampereen Patenttitoimisto Oy.

As the Head of New Factory business incubator, Jukka Matikainen has witnessed some 450 projects and 70 start-ups in action in the New Factory programmes alone. Add to that his own success with the New Factory and Demola models, and you can tell why Matikainen has become a highly valued evaluator of ideas and business plans.

As a former Big Brother finalist who is now partner at the advertising agency PopUp Media Oy, as well as Communications Director of the Junior Chamber International Finland, Iida Repo has more experience of successful branding and marketing than most of us could get even if we had more than one lifetime to do so.

Taaleritehdas offers financing services and is a potential investor for many types of businesses. Tero Luoma, Investment Director at Taaleritehdas, will provide the jury with insight into how investors view ideas.

Berggren is a leading international IPR company. Kim Simelius, Vice President of Berggren’s Patents business area & Managing Director of Tampereen Patenttitoimisto Oy, is passionate about helping inventors to protect their ideas.

One-on-one expert advice for all finalists

If you wish to make something out of your ideas, you need to think about IPR from the very beginning. With this in mind, Berggren offers aone-on-one session with Kim Simelius on IPR issues to all finalists of the Twinkle Pitch Competition. The session will cover issues such as how and when public presentation may affect the possibilities to protect inventions and design. It will also help to evaluate whether there is an invention in the subject being pitched. The sessions will take place one week before the competition final at Twinkle 2015.

Naturally, all finalists are granted free entry to Twinkle 2015.
