What’s up, TWINKLE?

It has been a while since our last blog post but TWINKLE is here full of energy and passion and will shine here more actively starting on now! Before telling about the plans that TWINKLE has for this year, let’s go quickly through what happened during the end of last year.

Besides the establishment of the Association, in 2016 TWINKLE played an important role in two projects. The first of them was an idea/pitching competition that was organized in co-operation with MukavaIT and with the support of TreStart, you can read more about the outcomes here. In the second one, TWINKLE collaborated with 3DStep, and brought its people to help in making this international event to happen. Altogether around twenty TWINKLE volunteers and board members were giving their effort for this event and the collaboration was a success. In October 2016 the autumn plenary meeting of the Association took place. Among other decisions, the new board for TWINKLE Association for 2017 was selected. The new board members are Doina Mucundorfean, Brown Onduso, Julija Vasiljeva and Imaneh Ameli. Liza Daviskiba and Katja Haase are continuing from the previous board, and Beatriz Arze was elected for Chairperson again.

All the board members are excited to raise awareness of the value of diversity through their contribution for TWINKLE Association. “I think diversity is the engine of creativity and innovation, so in Twinkle I have the chance to experience it and challenge myself in a very good way”, Imaneh tells. Doina thinks that diversity is a great advantage for society and for the economy. “With Twinkle I want to learn about different people and I want to create for others the possibility to learn as well.” You will get to know to board members’ thoughts about TWINKLE Movement and their backgrounds in the upcoming blog posts.

During this year TWINKLE continues to be active in different projects. At the moment there are, for example, negotiations going on with different institutions for joint projects. However, the highlight of the year will be TWINKLE 2017 –event that is organized in December in Tampere. So take your calendar and mark this interesting event already now, it is an event that you do not want to miss!

There is already TWINKLE Organization Committee working on executing the TWINKLE 2017 –event. The main theme of the event has been decided, and this will be published within one month. The Program team has also started to find amazing and inspirational speakers for the event.

Stay tuned, we will publish the calls for enthusiastic and internationally minded volunteers to join different teams. If you want to help in planning this amazing event with us and learn more about TWINKLE spirit, contact us!
